What We are Looking For: Linden Family Eye Care needs a hard-working, people-loving, and professional optician to join our close-knit team. We want someone who will grow with us, expanding his or her knowledge of all things eye and optical related.
Communication skills: In-person, phone, email and faxing skills are a must!
Solid Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Gmail for email and calendar, patient messaging, e-faxing.
On-the-job training in Revolution EHR and patient communication system Weave.
Optical services: Frame and lens selection and dispensing, adjustments/repairs, exam and materials claims submission, in-office lens finishing, ordering materials and managing inventory.
High-end optical dispensary on site specializing in multiple-pair sales and custom orders.
Insurance verification: Collect and record both medical insurance and vision discount plans, verify benefits and eligibility. Submit exam services and optical materials claims.
Cash handling: Basic math skills, ability to collect accurate payments via cash, check or card in-person and remotely. Requires high level of comfort discussing high-end services and products.
Patient Care: Patient check-in, pre-testing and rooming patient for the doctor.
Light house-keeping: ensure that the practice is looking its best and is running smoothly: open up/close down the building, prep coffee, take out the trash, spruce up decorations and optical displays, etc.
Fill-in whenever needed wherever needed to help the team!
Hours of Duty*:
Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
* Staff arrives a ½ hour before clinic opens. Also expect close-out and clean up to a ½ hour after clinic closes.
* Optional additional hours during peak seasons or as fill-in for other employees.
* One hour unpaid lunch staggered for office coverage.
Hourly wage: $18-22/hour to start depending on experience with upward potential.
2.5% of personal optical sales paid as a monthly bonus.
Optical benefit: 1 pair of glasses or a year’s supply of CLs per full year of employment. Family discounts.
Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Day.
