Our growing, and busy Optometry practice is looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician to join our friendly and caring team. The successful candidate should be available to work 32-35 hours per week Monday through Friday with an occasional Saturday morning. They should be knowledgeable about contact lenses as well as fitting and dispensing eyewear with state of the art lens designs and treatments. Knowledge of Officemate Practice software helpful. Our patients deserve fast, friendly service with attention to detail when fitting their new eyewear. If you enjoy working with people of all ages,we want to talk to you.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Review patient’s prescription, check and verify any insurance benefits and eligibility, assist patients with eyeglass selection and determine patients cost.
Check in, verify new eyewear are filled correctly, and dispense eyewear.
Place orders for patient contact lenses and verify they are correct when they come from vendor.
Instruct patients how to properly care for contact lenses as well as training to remove and insert them properly.
Place eyeglass and contact orders online
Maintain inventory level of contact lenses
Assist with phone answering, helping resolve patient questions on the phone and scheduling patients for appointments.
Insurance billing knowledge helpful
Complete additional office tasks as needed such as helping to prepare charts for appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, tracking orders.
